Mama Reindeer had to stay home

Mama was sick so the Reindeer family stayed home and did not make their annual appearance at the Saratoga Library.

Laura Clark, who co-ordinates the Pre-Christmas event each November said she understood but the Library always has an abundance of events planned so children have plenty to do and would not be too disappointed.

She also said she was assured the reindeer would be healthy and at the Victorian Walk and Christmas tree lighting December 5 to start the holiday season in Saratoga.

The Harry Dutcher Room was abuzz with tables of children crafting reindeer hats, Bruce Hiscock presenting his slide show on Alaska and reading from his book The Big Caribou Herd.

The Children’s Room will having a series of Gingerbread House workshops during December (Check at the desk for times) and will be offering a highlight program on December 29 -3 presentations of the Puppet People doing The Christmas Carol.
